Feniton C of E Primary School Students Awarded Torbay & Devon Civic Award 2020

25 Year 6 students from Feniton C of E Primary School were successfully awarded the Torbay and Devon Civic Award 2019/2020.


The children of Feniton Primary School have impressed this year. The restrictions of Covid 19 Lockdown have not dampened their spirits and held them back. They have shown resilience and passion for their causes and in their end of year assessments they have shown an admirable level of maturity and confidence.

The children of Feniton Primary School have impressed this year. The restrictions of Covid 19 Lockdown have not dampened their spirits and held them back. They have shown resilience and passion for their causes and in their end of year assessments they have shown an admirable level of maturity and confidence.


Their hobbies have been wide ranging from film-making to baking, photography and golf and they have raised lots of money for charity.

Some children supported the Exeter Baby Bank’s Christmas Appeal and visited the charity’s centre to help package baby bundles for families in need.

Despite the lockdown, the children have been able to make a significant difference to our school community, as play leaders, increasing the amount of physical activity at lunchtimes and playing with the youngest children; as school librarians and as members of the school Ethos Committee. Many of the children also became reading mentors for children in Year 4.
