2014/2015 Civic Award Wrap Up

The tenth anniversary of the Torbay Civic Award was celebrated during a year which really focused on publicity and community growth. Our new website was introduced; bringing the Torbay Civic Award onto the world wide web!

We also developed a facebook and twitter account all courtesy of Gary Vine from Aspire Direct Marketing.

Local interest grew and we were adopted by local Rotary groups and the St Marychurch Waitrose store who featured the award as one of its significant charities! The community newspaper, the Torbay Times, also became involved and Karen Thomson is writing a regular column for the paper which is spreading awareness of the award even further afield.

Amidst this, 370 children achieved the award and were presented with their certificates by Councillor Ann Brookes at the Presentation Night where children also received a commemorative pen courtesy of Babbacombe and St Marychurch Rotary Club.
