The third of the 20th Year Presentations for the Torbay and Devon Civic Award was held at St Cuthbert Mayne on July 10th, 2024, where just over 150 pupils received their certificates from Councillor Mark Spacagna, Civic Mayor of Torbay.
Pupils also received a commemorative medal, partly funded by Torquay Rotary and which was handed to the students by Lorna Milnes, President of Torquay Rotary. Schools also received certificates to acknowledge their participation over the last 20 years.
The event was presented by Karen Thomson, Award Founder and co-ordinator, who spoke to the children about the legacy of the award and taking the values of the award into their secondary schools and their lives.
The event commenced with a welcoming introduction from Kris Statham, Assistant Headteacher of St Cuthbert Mayne School.
The event’s technology was managed by Adam Shaikh from St Cuthbert Mayne and photographs were taken by Gary Vine (Civic Award Publicist and Business Administrator) and the official Civic Photographer.
