3 Year 6 students from St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Buckfast have successfully completed the 2016/2017 Torbay and Devon Civic Award and will be presented with their certificates at the presentation evening in Torbay Boys Grammar School on Wednesday 5th July.
This is the first time St Mary’s Catholic Primary School has participated in the Torbay and Devon Civic Award.
They have raised funds for various charities including BBC Children in Need, Caford: Just one Word, Macmillan Cancer Support, Devon Air Ambulance, Red Nose Day and British Heart Foundation.
The pupils also became ‘buddies’ to help our younger pupils at playtimes and lunchtimes which provided plenty of support, encouragement to the younger students.
The residential experience this year had the theme of ‘Healthy Living’ which activities included: fencing, archery, cycling, a bat walk, canoeing and cookery.
