Willowbrook Primary school have taken part in a wide range of activities and projects as part of their Torbay and Devon Civic Award. The year 6 students have worked collaboratively to support the local community, care for the environment and take on new challenges.
Willowbrook Primary School’s Year 6 pupils recently took part in a Bell Boating trip to Haven Banks. They enjoyed travelling along the River Exe, participating in a range of team-building activities, including carefully swapping boats mid-journey and engaging in group games such as “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Jump!” The experience concluded with an opportunity for pupils jump in the water.
As part of Willowbrook Primary School’s “Pledge to the Planet,” Year 6 pupils have undertaken a variety of environmental initiatives. These include regular litter picking to maintain a clean school environment, growing vegetables to donate to the local community centre and setting up bird boxes within the school grounds.
