The first of the 20th Year Presentations for the Torbay and Devon Civic Award was held at Isca Academy on July 9th, 2024 where just over 100 pupils received their certificates from Councillor John Hart, the Chair of Devon Council.
Pupils also received a commemorative medal, partly funded by Torquay Rotary, and schools received certificates to acknowledge their participation over the last 20 years.
The event was presented by Karen Thomson, Award Founder and Co-ordinator, who spoke to the children about the history and legacy of the award and about taking the values of the award into their secondary schools and their lives.
The event commenced with a welcoming introduction from Vicki Joyce, Headteacher of Isca Academy who also presented the commemorative medals.
Certificates were presented by Councillor John Hart, Chair of Devon County Council.
The event was managed by Lorraine North of Fusion School Services, technology was managed by Beth Tregale and Dan Symons and photographs were taken by Gary Vine (Civic Award Publicist and Business Administrator)
