All Saints Marsh C of E Academy Crazy Hair Day

All Saints Marsh C of E Academy hosted a Non-School Uniform and Crazy Hair Day supporting BBC Children in Need and the Children’s Trust.

A Torbay and Devon Civic Award year 6 participant is raising funds for the Children’s Trust and wanted to do a ‘crazy hair” day at School combined with a non-uniform day for all pupils from All Saints Marsh C of E Academy where they would donate money for taking part.

A total of £112 has been raised and will be split between The Children’s Trust and BBC Children in Need.

Mrs Webber, Award Coordinator ‘was immensely proud of the children who came to school sporting fantastic crazy hair ideas. It was a really fun day, with lots of laughter whilst also raising awareness for such an important charity’. I am looking forward to helping out with the other ideas the children have…which include so far…..healthy club, art club, a superhero day, odd shoe da and a sponsored silence!

Mrs Edwards said……’ At All Saints Marsh we encourage and support our children to be “courageous advocates”. This means they champion causes which are special and meaningful to them. The fact that our Civic award Champion  chose a children’s charity to support and that all the children supported her makes us incredibly proud of our whole school community. We have been exploring one of our core Christian values of Compassion which the children displayed beautifully here. It coincided with World Kindness Day too so what a brilliant display of kindness to others and in a crazy and fun way that everyone could be involved in!

Our Year 6 Torbay and Devon Award participant quotes ‘It was a lovely day, the hair was really colourful and fun. I really enjoyed raising lots of money for the Children’s Trust as part of my Civic Award’.
