Bovey Tracey Students raise £422 raised for RNL Teignmouth

Teignmouth RNLI recently received a generous donation of £422.00 from two very enterprising young boys.

Sam Hobbs and Zack Stone who are both aged 11 and pupils of Bovey Tracey Primary School are taking part in the Torbay & Devon Civic Award. This entails a number of tasks that encourages citizenship in their school and local communities.

Sam and Zack decided to make a sponsored walk and undertook the 24mile Two Castles trail from Oakhampton to Launceston.

Accompanied by Zack’s father David they did this over two days for which they have been training since January.

The Photo shows Sam and Zack with David presenting a cheque for the amount they raised to Barrie Behenna the Hon Secretary of the Teignmouth RNLI Fund Raising Team. Barrie thanked the boys for their donation and for choosing the RNLI for their sponsorship.

RNL Teignmouth lifeboats is part of the RNL group that provide emergency responses around the UK and Ireland who are on call 24 hours a day, ready to respond to any emergency at sea. Follow RNL Teignmouth on their facebook fundraising page at
