Year 6 Torbay and Devon Civic Award participant Macy from Kingskerswell C of E Primary School celebrates her 11th birthday by swimming 11km which is 440 lengths at Plymouth Life Centre swimming pool (where Olympian Tom Daley trained) to raise funds for her chosen charity, Newton Abbot Swimming and Water Polo club.
Macy completed the 11km (440 length) challenge in just 5 hours.
As of today 10th June 2025 Macy has raised an amazing £1,020 exceeding her target of £850 by £170 with all funds going to support The Newton Abbot Swimming and Water Polo Club through her JustGiving crowd funding page at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/macy-11for11
Macy’s mum Nikki says “She completed her 11km in exactly 5 hours, an absolutely incredible achievement. We are so very proud of her, she was one determined little lady! “
The Newton Abbot Swimming and Water Polo Club is a registered charity run by a dedicated team of volunteers with added support from local parents and the local community. The club currently have around 200 members and split into three sections – Competitive Swimming Squad, Discovery Swimming Squad and Water Polo.
