Bovey Tracey Exmoor Challenge Update

Saturday 29th April four Bovey Tracey Year 6 students; Amelia Burgess, Niamh Pratt Smith, Ella Smith and Hannah Brodbelt completed a 16 mile walk across Exmoor raising £1135.50 for the Southwest Children’s hospice.

The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold and not a drop of rain.

There were 120 teams taking part and it was very competitive but we were definitely up for the challenge!

We arrived at each checkpoint early which meant we had a bit of time to quickly eat and drink before we marched on.

After hours of walking everyone began to get very tired.

My shoulders rubbed from the heavy rucksack I was carrying; Niamh’s tummy started to hurt; Hannah’s shoes broke and Ella got a headache.

But we did really well completing the walk in 6 hours and we were presented with a medal for finishing.

We have managed to raise a fantastic total of £1135.50 for the Children’s Hospice South West.  This is far more than we set out to raise and we all want to say a huge THANK YOU for all the support you have given us.

We loved taking part in the event and raising lots of money and we hope to complete another challenge next year and raise even more money!

THANK YOU again and if you haven’t sponsored us (or would like to add to your donation) it’s not too late please visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/BoveyTraceyPrimarygirlsteam.

If you have sponsored us through the paper forms and haven’t paid your sponsorship please could you hand in the money to the school office in an envelope with your name and amount written on it.

Love Amelia, Niamh, Ella and Hannah
