Charities and Causes supported by Gatehouse Academy Primary during their Torbay & Devon Civic Award 2019/2020.
Pupils created many plans for raising money for their chosen charities. Unfortunately, due to lockdown many of these activities could not go ahead. However, some pupils did get the opportunity to run their events earlier in the year:
Lewis raised £164.87 for his chosen Charity, Dawlish Community Transport. He organised several events including running stalls including a Beat the Buzzer stall, selling bracelets, Magic Reindeer food and helping out with Santa’s Grotto.
Abigail had about 40 centimetres of her hair cut and donated it to The Little Princess Trust, a charity which makes real hair wigs for children who have lost their own hair due to cacer treatment or other conditions.
Emily planned many events, raising money for Animals in distress, including running a stall at the Christmas Fair:
Maisie B collected £112 for the Life Saving Club and Luke and Cody helped to bake cakes to sell and raised money for The Alzheimer’s Society
