Mia Hankin raises £400 and donates 16 inches of own hair

Year 6 student Mia Hankin from Bovey Tracey Primary School made a personal sacrifice during the lockdown by having 16 inches cut off her hair.

Mia raised £400 for the Dartmoor Kitchen Hub who are an Ashburton based not-for-profit company that are passionate about healthy eating and supporting the eldery and vulnerable residents within the local community. More details can be found at https://communitykitchenhub.org.uk

Proud Mia’s mum Hayley comments “As parents we are super proud for Mia. She has always loved her long hair and wanted to give something to someone she felt she was lucky to have”

Mia’s hair was also donated to Little Princess Trust who provides real hair wigs to children and young people, upto 24 years old who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions. For more information visit https://www.littleprincesses.org.uk
